Business Continuity — CISSP Practice Questions
Business continuity (BC) is the overarching discipline focused on ensuring that critical business functions can continue or be restored quickly during and after a disruptive event, covering people, processes, facilities, and technology. The CISSP exam places business continuity planning in Domain 7 and expects candidates to understand the entire lifecycle from business impact analysis (BIA) through plan development, testing, and maintenance. Candidates must be able to distinguish between BC (keeping the business running) and disaster recovery (restoring technology), and understand how BIA outputs including maximum tolerable downtime drive both strategies. BC planning is a governance and risk management responsibility, not just an IT function.
