AWS CertMetrics Guide 2026: Login, Badges, and Transcripts

Updated May 2026 • 7 min read • AWS Certifications

If you're pursuing or have earned an AWS certification, you've probably encountered AWS CertMetrics — or its successor, the AWS Certification Account portal. This is where you access your exam history, download transcripts, claim digital badges, and share your credentials with employers.

This guide walks through everything you need to know about CertMetrics, including the transition to the new AWS Certification portal and how to access all your credentials in one place.

What Is AWS CertMetrics?

AWS CertMetrics was Amazon's certification management platform where candidates tracked exam scores, accessed completion certificates, and managed their certification profile. In 2023–2024, AWS migrated this system to a new AWS Certification Account portal integrated directly with AWS Training and Certification at aws.amazon.com/certification.

If you have an older CertMetrics URL bookmarked (www.certmetrics.com/amazon), you'll be redirected to the new portal. All your historical exam data, scores, and credentials transfer automatically — nothing is lost.

How to Access Your AWS Certification Account (Former CertMetrics)

1

Go to the AWS Certification portal

Navigate to aws.amazon.com/certification and click "Sign in to your AWS Certification account." You'll use your Amazon.com login credentials (the same account you use for AWS console or Amazon shopping).

2

Sign in with your Amazon account

Use your Amazon.com email and password. If you took exams under a different email (common if you registered through an employer), use that address. All exam history is tied to the email used at registration.

3

Access your dashboard

Your dashboard shows all earned certifications, upcoming exams, and available benefits. From here you can download transcripts, claim badges, and access exam scheduling.

4

Download your transcript or certificate

Click on any earned certification to download a PDF certificate. For your full transcript (all exams, including failed attempts and scores), look for "Share transcript" or "Download transcript" — this generates a shareable link or PDF.

AWS Digital Badges: Claiming and Sharing

When you earn an AWS certification, you receive a digital badge through Credly (formerly Acclaim). Badges are verifiable credentials you can share on LinkedIn, email signatures, or your website.

How to Claim Your AWS Badge

  1. After passing your exam, watch for an email from Credly (info@credly.com) — usually arrives within 3–5 business days
  2. Click "Accept Badge" in the email to claim it on Credly
  3. Create a free Credly account or log in if you have one
  4. Your badge is now in your Credly profile and shareable

If you don't receive a badge email, check your spam folder. You can also access badges directly through your AWS Certification Account dashboard under "Benefits."

Sharing Your AWS Badge on LinkedIn

  1. In Credly, open your badge and click "Share"
  2. Select "LinkedIn" — Credly will add the certification to your LinkedIn Certifications section automatically
  3. Alternatively, copy the badge URL and add it manually to your LinkedIn profile as a certification with a verification link

AWS Certification Expiration and Renewal

AWS certifications expire on a 3-year cycle. Your CertMetrics/AWS Certification Account shows the expiration date for each certification. To renew:

AWS does not offer free renewal assessments like Microsoft does. You must pay the exam fee for each renewal unless you use the 50% discount voucher from your certification benefits.

Troubleshooting Common AWS CertMetrics Issues

Can't find my exam score or certificate

Exam results typically take 5 business days to appear in your AWS Certification Account (some exams are instant). If it's been more than 2 weeks, contact AWS Certification Support through your account dashboard. Make sure you're logged in with the same email used when scheduling the exam.

Wrong name on my certificate

Your certificate reflects the legal name in your AWS account profile. If it's incorrect, update your profile in the AWS Certification Account first, then contact support to request a reissue. This matters for employer verification — names must match your government ID.

Previous exams from certmetrics.com not showing

The migration from CertMetrics to the new AWS Certification portal should have carried all your history. If exams are missing, contact AWS Certification Support with your candidate ID (visible in the old CertMetrics confirmation emails) and they'll merge the records.

Badge email never arrived

Check spam, then go to your AWS Certification Account dashboard → Benefits → Digital Badges. You can trigger badge reissuance from there. If the option isn't visible, contact Credly support directly at support.credly.com.
